As we age the visible signs of the aging process become more prominent. We may begin to see crow’s feet around our eyes or laugh lines around our mouth. Skin seems to sag a bit more and has lost the elasticity and glow from our youth. Most us at this time do not want to undergo invasive surgical procedures nor do we need to.

Advanced injectable skin treatments can counteract many results of aging in a non-invasive and cost-effective manner. Injectable dermal fillers and wrinkle-reducing treatments offer the benefits of a surgical facelift with minimal discomfort, no post-treatment downtime, and convenient scheduling options. Many of our patients schedule their injectable treatments during their lunch hour – hence the term “lunchtime facelift” – returning to work looking naturally refreshed and restored!

As a result of their popularity, injectable skin treatments are offered by a variety of providers but patients must keep in mind that improper injection techniques can produce undesirable results such as an asymmetry and overly full or tight appearance. Dr. Thompson has trained extensively in the proper administration of injectables and has selected what he feels is the most effective and safe procedures to provide patients.

There are a wide variety of injectable fillers and wrinkle-reducing treatments available on the market today, and out of those Dr. Thompson has selected the following:

Botulinum Toxin Treatment

Botulinum toxin is one of the most popular non-surgical procedures performed for the temporary correction of certain facial wrinkles. It is a series of small intramuscular injections of an FDA approved purified protein. Frown lines, small wrinkles, happen because the muscles that control facial expression are used often. Botulinum toxin works by reducing the activity of the muscles that cause frown lines, such as those between the brows and crows feet that cause wrinkles to form over time. The result is a smoother appearance of these areas for up to 4 months. Dysport®, Botox®, and Xeomin® are used by Dr. Thompson. Pricing starts at $99.

Dermal Filler Treatment

As we age, our faces naturally lose subcutaneous fat and dermal fillers can help to diminish facial lines and restore volume and fullness in the face caused by that loss. The facial skin also stretches, adding to facial volume loss. Other factors that affect the facial skin include sun exposure, heredity, and lifestyle. Injectable dermal fillers can plump thin lips, enhance shallow contours, soften facial creases, remove wrinkles and improve the appearance of recessed scars. Dr. Thompson uses Restylane®, Radiesse®, Juvederm® and Belotero® for procedures. Pricing starts at $425.
